At Origin, we celebrate the rich culinary heritage of Africa and the Caribbean, where tradition meets innovation. Our dishes are crafted with fresh ingredients, bold spices, and a passion for flavour that transports you straight to sun-kissed shores.

Origin Restaurant & Bar was founded by Chef Dessy, a proud mother of two whose culinary journey began at a young age under the loving guidance of her maternal grandmother, who originates from Barbados. It was in her grandmother’s kitchen that Chef Dessy discovered the deep-rooted power of food to bring people together, inspire joy, and preserve cultural identity.

Her love for cooking grew into a calling. In 2015, she opened her first pub restaurant in rural Worcestershire, blending Afro-Caribbean authenticity with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Her vision expanded with the creation of The Next African Chef, a platform dedicated to celebrating Africa's rich and diverse culinary heritage through talent discovery and storytelling.
